* PRIMACY OF EXISTENCE: There must be some underlying "uncreated" foundation as a starting point to everything.  Otherwise you get the infinite regress exposed in the quote you posted.  Philosophers over the centuries have narrowed the list of reasonable "uncreated" starting points down to only two: Consciousness (God) or Existence (reality).  I believe that existence has primacy for various reasons explained in the YouTube ChristianEternalism philosophy course: http://christianeternalism.org/course.html (Module 6 especially).  I still believe in God, but a God who exists inside of reality rather than outside of reality.  What do you think?

Notice something in your reply... "being" is equivalent to "existent"... Something must first exist before it can become conscious.  I agree that "being" or "existence" happens at conception.  Consciousness comes later.

Giving your comment more thought. If we believe humanity comes into being at the moment of conception that wouldn't it be true that neither existence or consciousness has primacy? The latter might not be fully developed, just as a newborn's consciousness is different from yours or mine, but it is consciousness nonetheless.
