“And as pertaining to the new and everlasting covenant, it was instituted for the fulness of my glory; and he that receiveth a fulness thereof must and shall abide the law, or he shall be damned, saith the Lord God” (D&C 132:4-6). The idea of a “new and everlasting covenant” was familiar doctrine for the Saints. In section 22 of the Doctrine and Covenants they learned of the new and everlasting covenant of baptism. The covenant of baptism initiates our salvation and exaltation, but to enter into God’s glory, one must accept the new and everlasting covenant of marriage. Those who do not will be damned, or in other words, denied eternal increase.— Wright
