Being rude is easy. It does not take any effort and is a sign of weakness and insecurity. Kindness shows great self-discipline and strong self-esteem. Being kind is not always easy when dealing with rude people. Kindness is a sign of a person who has done a lot of personal work and has come to a great self-understanding and wisdom. Choose to be kind over being right, and you’ll be right every time because kindness is a sign of STRENGTH.
I DON’T ENGAGE IN ACTS OF KINDNESS TO BE REWARDED LATER, I ENGAGE IN ACTS OF KINDNESS BECAUSE IT MAKES ME FEEL GOOD TO GIVE.
You will learn a lot about yourself if you stretch in the direction of goodness, of bigness, of kindness, of forgiveness, of emotional bravery. Be a warrior for love.
Imagine what our real neighborhoods would be like if each of us offered, as a matter of course, just one kind word to another person.
“it is in (women’s) nature to be rejuvenated by kindness and compassion and also by the external insignia of compassion.”
People are unreasonable and self-centered. FORGIVE THEM ANYWAY. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. BE KIND ANYWAY. If you are honest, people may cheat you. BE HONEST ANYWAY. If you find happiness, people may be jealous. BE HAPPY ANYWAY. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. DO GOOD ANYWAY. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. GIVE YOUR BEST ANYWAY. For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. IT WAS NEVER BETWEEN YOU AND THEM ANYWAY.
Do things for people not because of who they are or what they do in return, but because of who you are.
“Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile."
“We cannot call ourselves Christian and continue to judge one another or ourselves so harshly”
“Kindness is the essence of a celestial life. Kindness is how a Christ-like person treats others. Kindness should permeate all of our words and actions at work, at school, at church, and especially in our homes."
