It's hard to beat a person who never gives up.
Every strike brings me closer to the next home run.
Many men fail because they quit too soon. They lose faith when the signs are against them. They do not have the courage to hold on, to keep fighting in spite of that which seems insurmountable. If more of us would strike out and attempt the "impossible," we very soon would find the truth of that old saying that nothing is impossible...Abolish fear and you can accomplish anything you wish.
Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.
Whatever the struggle continue the climb it may be only one step to the summit.
In the end, you're measured not by how much you undertake but by what you finally accomplish.
Our patience will achieve more than our force.
A wise man will make more opportunities than he finds.
The heights by great men reached and kept, Were not attained by sudden flight, But they, while their companions slept, Were toiling upward in the night.
Perseverance is a great element of success. If you only knock long enough and loud enough at the gate, you are sure to wake up somebody.
Consider the postage stamp: Its usefulness consists in the ability to stick to one thing until it gets there.
“While faith is not a perfect knowledge,” Elder Neal A. Maxwell said, “it brings a deep trust in God, whose knowledge is perfect!”21 Even in turbulent times, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is gritty and resilient. It helps us sift through unimportant distractions. It encourages us to keep moving along the covenant path. Faith pushes through discouragement and allows us to face the future with resolve and squared shoulders. It prompts us to ask for rescue and relief as we pray to the Father in the name of His Son. And when prayerful pleas seem to go unanswered, our persistent faith in Jesus Christ produces patience, humility, and the ability to reverently utter the words “Thy will be done.”
For visions come not to polluted eyes.
And those who urge entrepreneurs to never give up? Charlatans. Sometimes you have to give up. Sometimes knowing when to give up, when to try something else, is genius. Giving up doesn't mean stopping. don't ever stop.
Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education alone will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
The best way out is always through.
Few things are impossible to dilligence and skill...Great works are performed, not by strength, but perseverance.
We would say, “I may not soon make it to the top, but I can do this next step right now.” Over time the daunting task ultimately became achievable—step by step.
I never say never. I believe that if you really want to do something, there must be a way.
I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have it.
Remember, a dead fish can float downstream, but it takes a live one to swim up stream.
Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.
