To carry forward his own purposes among men and nations, the Lord foreordained chosen spirit children in pre-existence and assigned them to come to earth at particular times and places so that they might aid in furthering the divine will. These pre-existence appointments, made ‘according to the foreknowledge of God the Father’ (1 Pet. 1:2), simply designated certain individuals to perform missions which the Lord in his wisdom knew they had the talents and capacities to do.”
If I survived, it must be for some reason. I must do something with my life. It is too serious to play games with anymore, because in my place, someone else could have been saved.
When something is important enough, you do it even if the odds are not in your favor.
We are all a part of the whole plan, not just a plan for us individually, but the whole plan. That means what I do overlaps with what you do to fulfill the Father’s purposes here on the earth, and in the process we fulfill each of our missions as well.
Once we understand we are not on earth at this time, born into this family in this place, by accident or whim, we can move forward with faith that our Father will assist us to overcome any obstacles that stand in the way of fulfilling our foreordained missions. We don’t need to be overly concerned about where or how we fit in to the eternal scheme of things. Heavenly Father takes care of that.
Death is not the ultimate tragedy. The ultimate tragedy is not doing what you were born to do.
When we are living hand in hand with our Savior and Father in Heaven, doors will open so we can accomplish what needs to be done.
If we are humble, if we are diligent in the service of the Lord, if we seek to serve him with an eye single to the glory of our Father in heaven (keeping in mind that he has asked for that service with a full heart, with all our might, with all our mind, and with all our strength), we will not go astray. We will not be seduced by evil spirits nor by the spirits of men, but we will be led and directed by the Spirit of God.
Jesus had not finished his work when his body was slain, neither did he finish it after his resurrection from the dead; although he had accomplished the purpose for which he then came to the earth, he had not fulfilled all his work. And when will he? Not until he has redeemed and saved every son and daughter of our father Adam that have been or ever will be born upon this earth to the end of time, except the sons of perdition. That is his mission. We will not finish our work until we have saved ourselves, and then not until we shall have saved all depending upon us; for we are to become saviors upon Mount Zion, as well as Christ. We are called to this mission.
Search for a job where you can relate to the organization’s mission. You may find little enjoyment in laying bricks all day long, but if the crew you work with is building an architectural masterpiece, you can find joy in your combined results.
Since camaraderie matters, be a good teammate. Make decisions with others’ best interest in mind. Carry your fair share of the work load. Pitch in when others fall behind. Stand up for your colleagues. Speak kindly to others. Willingly do tough jobs. Give others the benefit of the doubt. Deliver on your promises. Master your craft. Be the person you’d like others to be.
The central purpose of our mortal probation is to prepare to meet God and inherit the blessings He has promised to His worthy children.
You are in this time and circumstance by Divine appointment. God knows you and he knows what you have the capacity to achieve.
There is a serene Providence which rules the fate of nations...It makes its own instruments, creates the man for the time, trains him in poverty, inspires his genius, and arms him for his task.
Here is a test to find whether your mission on earth is finished: If you're alive, it isn't.
Everyone has been made for some particular work, and the desire for that work has been put in every heart.
Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.
There’s a divinity that shapes our ends...
