“Dance with the waves, move with the sea, let the rhythm of the water set your soul free.” – Christy Ann Martine
The Sacred Dancer by Isabelle Andres She dances to the rhythms of her life, Fully attuned to the choreography of her heart, She floats in the harmonious space of her notes, Bringing to life in the spur of a moment a whole orchestra, She makes visible the invisible, Her hands write words only she can read, Her body whispers stories only she can hear, Her eyes are the gateways to emotions only she can feel, Her strength and grace reflect the divine, She awakens in those who watch her, The sacred seed of their own heart, She dances wholeheartedly, She is alive.
The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
When we dance we touch the essence of who we are and experience the unity between spirit and matter.
Laughter, song, and dance create emotional and spiritual connection; they remind us of the one thing that truly matters when we are searching for comfort, celebration, inspiration, or healing: We are not alone.
No Sane man will dance.
I get up. I walk. I fall down. Meanwhile, I keep dancing.
She dances to the songs in her head, speaks with the rhythm of her heart, and loves from the depths of her soul.
True gratitude comes from knowing that you belong in the infinite dance of life.
"While I dance I cannot judge, I cannot hate, I cannot separate myself from life. I can only be joyful and whole. That is why I dance. " ~ Hans Bos
To watch us dance is to hear our hearts speak.
Dance is the movement of the universe concentrated in an individual.
When our identity expands to include everything, we find a peace with the dance of the world. The ocean of life rises and falls within us – birth and death, joy and pain, it is all ours, and our heart is full and empty, large enough to embrace it all.
Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them - that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.
What do you think it is about the power of music that brings people together, builds bridges, and heals hearts? I'm really fascinated by this idea of one mind. There are very few places I can think of in the world where thousands of people go to and all put their hands in the air simultaneously, all sing along to songs that have ideals in them that they believe in, and all jump up and down together, sweat together, dance, laugh, cry. The only thing I can sort of compare it to is a sporting event when people all cheer together for one team. The only difference is that, then, half the people in the audience go home feeling sad because their team lost. There are very few places where you have this idea of one mind with people all going together. And I think it’s a great experience. You know, I see people coming to shows carrying the stress of the world on their shoulders and they dance and sing and laugh and cry. Then they walk out a little bit taller, a little bit more able to face whatever it is that’s coming next for them in their day.
Move to your own drum, create your own rhythm. Step left if you want to, even if it's not right. Follow the hidden song only you can hear, begging you to dance - each move weaving together the lines of your life, the love of your heart, and the light of your soul.
What If There Is No Need To Change What if there is no need to change? No need to transform yourself Into someone who is more compassionate, more present, more loving, or wise? How would this affect all the places in your life where you are endlessly trying to be better, or different? What if the task is simply to unfold To become who you already are in your essential nature – Gentle, compassionate, and capable of living fully and passionately present? What if the question is not, Why am I so infrequently the person I really want to be? But ‘why do I so infrequently want to be the person I really am?’ How would this change what you think you have to learn? What if becoming who and what we truly are happens not through striving and trying But by recognizing and receiving the people and places and practices That are for us the warmth of encouragement we need to unfold? How would this shape the choices you make about how to spend today? What if you know that the impulse to move in a way that creates beauty in the world Will arise from deep within And guide you every time you simply pay attention And wait. How would this shape your stillness, your movement, Your willingness to follow this impulse To just let go And dance?
A healthy social life is found only when, in the mirror of each soul, the whole community finds its reflection, and when, in the whole community, the virtue of each one is living.
Dance, when you are broken open. Dance, if you've torn the bandage off. Dance in the middle of fighting. Dance in your blood. Dance, when you are perfectly free. Struck, the dancers hear the tambourine inside them, as a wave turns the foam on its very top, begin. Maybe you don't hear that tambourine, all the tree leaves clapping time. Close the ears on your head that listen mostly to lies and cynical jokes. There are other things to hear and see: dance, music and a brilliant city inside the soul.
I see dance being used as communication between body and soul to express what is too deep to find words.
I praise the dance, for it frees people from the heaviness of matter and binds the isolated to community. I praise the dance, which demands everything: health and a clear spirit and a buoyant soul. Dance is a transformation of space, of time, of people, who are in constant danger of becoming all brain, will, or feeling. Dancing demands a whole person, one who is firmly anchored in the center of his life, who is not obsessed by lust for people and things and the demon of isolation in his own ego Dancing demands a freed person, one who vibrates with the equipoise of all his powers. I praise the dance. O man, learn to dance, or else the angels in heaven will not know what to do with you.
Dancing is silent poetry.
I see dance as glue for a community
