That's a cool idea about the work journal. Too bad you didn't give it to me before I mostly retired. Then again, it might be a great way to keep track of not frittering my time away now. Thanks.


I have kept an ongoing, high-level work journal of "tasks accomplished" each week going back years.  It is really easy to do and is psychologically self-fulfilling to review.  I'm fascinated that anyone would chafe about being asked for simple bullets of what you are working on.

When I worked for State, we had to submit detailed lists of how we had spent our time; our pay depended on it. They were much, much more detailed than the five simple bullet points DOGE is asking for. Hated it, usually fell way behind, but it was part of job & wouldn't have dared to question it!
