We learn that in due time everyone who has lived and died on earth shall be resurrected, “they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.” (John 5:29). However, the order in which we shall be resurrected is determined by individual conditions of righteousness or guilt. (See 1 Cor. 15:23; Rev. 20:5-6.) A latter-day Scripture, describing the general resurrection of the just, incident to the approaching advent of Christ, embodies the Lord’s declaration in these words: “The trump of God shall sound both long and loud, and shall say to the sleeping nations, Ye saints arise and live; ye sinners stay and sleep until I shall call again.” (D&C 43:18.)Share
