I know God won't give me anything I can't handle. I just wish He didn't trust me so much.
“Love, in order to survive, must be nourished by sacrifices, especially the sacrifice of self. / Charity to be fruitful, must cost us. / This love should flow from self-sacrifice, and it must be felt to the point of hurting. / He wants us to love one another, to give ourselves to each other until it hurts. / Give until it hurts, until you feel the pain.“
People are unreasonable and self-centered. FORGIVE THEM ANYWAY. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. BE KIND ANYWAY. If you are honest, people may cheat you. BE HONEST ANYWAY. If you find happiness, people may be jealous. BE HAPPY ANYWAY. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. DO GOOD ANYWAY. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. GIVE YOUR BEST ANYWAY. For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. IT WAS NEVER BETWEEN YOU AND THEM ANYWAY.
To keep a lamp burning we have to keep putting oil in it.
“Believe in Him, trust in Him with a blind and absolute confidence because He is Jesus.”
“I will renounce my will, my inclinations, my whims and fancies and offer myself as a willing slave to the will of God. Yes, my children, this is what I pray for daily, for each one, that you may become a slave to the will of God”
'Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time and always start with the person nearest you.' Mother Teresa
Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.
“Our Love for one another will be: selfless, generous, tender, personal, and respectful ... beyond likes and dislikes, friendship and enmity, worthiness and unworthiness, [unconditional] … always inspiring, encouraging, trusting, wholehearted, and [self-] sacrificial unto the death of the cross.”
“Christ’s love for us will give us strength and urge us to spend ourselves for him. ‘Let the sisters and the people eat you up.’ We have no right to refuse our life to others in whom we contact Christ.”
“A Missionary of Charity is just a little instrument in the hands of God. We must try to keep it always like that—being just a small instrument in his hands. Very often I feel like a little pencil in God’s hand. He does the writing; he does the thinking; he does the movement—I have only to be a pencil and nothing else.”
“Jesus, my own Jesus—I am only Thine—I am so stupid—I do not know what to say—but do with me whatever You wish—as You wish—as long as you wish. I love you not for what you give, but for what You take Jesus—why can’t I be a perfect Loreto Nun—a real victim of Your love.”
“If my separation from You [Jesus],—brings others to You and in their love and company You find joy and pleasure—why Jesus, I am willing with all my heart to suffer all that I suffer—not only now—but for all eternity—if this was possible.”
