Two great bodies are listed in scriptural context as standards of reference in space-time. The first pertains to man’s primary time standard—the day and the year on earth. The second is the Lord’s standard of time—the day on Kolob. The period of rotation of Kolob represents the standard of the Lord regarding time. Kolob is said in the scriptures to rotate once on its axis every one thousand years of man’s time. Thus a thousand years of man’s time is evidently the standard “day” of the Lord.
