Maurine Jensen Proctor is co-founder and editor-in-chief of the Latter-day Saint-oriented publication, Meridian Magazine. She received her education from the University of Utah and Harvard University. Proctor began her writing career with McGraw Hill Magazines and the Chicago Sun-Times. She has created award-winning television documentaries and written for radio shows. Together with her husband, Scot Proctor, she has authored several books, including "Witness of the Light" and "Source of the Light". They have also edited a revised edition of Lucy Mack Smith's biography of her son, Joseph Smith. Maurine Proctor is also a mother of eleven children and has been a part-time Institute teacher for many years.
