Joseph Fielding McConkie (1941-2013) was an American religious educator and author. He was a professor of Ancient Scripture at Brigham Young University (BYU) and authored or co-authored over 25 books. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, he was the son of LDS Apostle Bruce R. McConkie and Amelia Smith McConkie. McConkie served as an LDS Chaplain in Vietnam and later as president of the Scotland Edinburgh Mission. He was known for his deep understanding of LDS doctrine and his ability to teach complex religious concepts clearly. His works often focused on scriptural interpretation and the teachings of Joseph Smith.
