John Wooden (1910-2010), often called the “Wizard of Westwood”, is best known for his remarkable career as a basketball coach at UCLA, where he led the Bruins to 10 NCAA championships in 12 seasons, including a record seven consecutive titles from 1967 to 1973. Before his coaching career, Wooden was an accomplished player at Purdue University, earning All-America honors three times. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Wooden’s coaching philosophy emphasized not just winning but also personal development and success in life, encapsulated in his "Pyramid of Success". Wooden was born on October 14, 1910, in Hall, Indiana. He passed away on June 4, 2010, in Los Angeles, California.
