Franz Kafka
Franz Kafka (1883-1924) was a German-speaking Bohemian writer born on July 3, 1883, in Prague (then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire now the Czech Republic). He is widely regarded as one of the major figures of 20th-century literature. Kafka's works, such as "The Metamorphosis", "The Trial", and "The Castle", often explore themes of alienation, existential anxiety, and the absurdity of modern life. Despite his literary talent, Kafka worked as a lawyer and wrote mostly in his spare time. He struggled with self-doubt and instructed his friend Max Brod to destroy his unpublished works, but Brod ignored this request and published them posthumously. Kafka died on June 3, 1924, from tuberculosis, leaving behind a legacy that continues to influence literature and culture
