Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892) was a renowned British preacher and author, often referred to as the "Prince of Preachers." He was born on June 19, 1834, in Kelvedon, Essex, England. He became a pastor at the age of 19 at the New Park Street Chapel in London, which later moved to the Metropolitan Tabernacle to accommodate his growing congregation. Spurgeon was known for his powerful oratory skills and deep theological insights. He authored numerous sermons, books, and commentaries, many of which are still widely read today. He also founded the Pastor's College (now Spurgeon's College) and was involved in various charitable works. Spurgeon passed away on January 31, 1892, in Menton, France.
